Once a month, Hitchhiking or car-sharing, by train, by bike or on foot, one way or another our team-members make it to Heidelberg where we meet for our regular preparation sessions. For almost two years, we have been planing Visionaries in Action and it is great to see how our project develops and grows.
We don’t only want to make the VIA-Conference as climate-neutral as possible, but we also wanted to integrate the principles of the right livelihood in the the preparation process. Therefore, we mostly use public transportation or car sharing, and we also make sure our food is ecological and fair-traded. Whenever possible, we partner with local grocery-stores or bakeries and use the products that are still perfectly fine but can no longer be sold. That way, we minimize food-waste and also sharpen our awareness for the usual consumption patterns in our society. Achieving our own right-livelihood-ambitions is not always easy, but we feel that everybody should contribute their fair share towards a more sustainable lifestyle. Heated discussions, countless mind-maps and concept-models, more than a hundred pages of minutes, immeasurable enthusiasm, dedication, and a healthy dose of perseverance. That’s how we prepare Visionaries in Action. Read on to find out , how you can prepare for VIA.
